Sara enjoys disseminating her expertise and enthusiasm for fashion history and sustainability on an international stage. Whether addressing intimate gatherings or large audiences, she believes public engagements are invaluable for extending knowledge beyond academia and making fashion education more accessible.
Sara's talks and lectures span diverse topics, ranging from the psychology of sustainability to the impact of Islamic art on Western fashion. She has been asked to speak at institutions such as the Dallas Museum of Art, the Georgia Museum of Art, the Fashion Institute of Technology, and various universities across China. Sara particularly enjoys facilitating gallery tours and workshops, fostering personal connections between audiences and material culture.
In March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic caused people to stay at home, Sara collaborated with New York Adventure Club to pioneer a series of educational webinars. This innovative initiative transformed their in-person, New York-based events into captivating online experiences, reaching hundreds of viewers globally. Addressing an array of topics, from the history of fashion exhibitions to the dynamics of the global secondhand clothing industry, Sara's lively and interactive online lectures became a unifying experience during a challenging period. She continues to host these online events periodically, bringing together audiences from around the world in shared exploration and learning.
